The metronome is a pace guide, not a rhythm score. “Together challenge” checks coordination only at chord-press steps.
How checking works · MIDI, acoustic & the two hand zones
MIDI: The lower octave is assigned to your left hand; the next octave is assigned to your right. The starting root moves with the chord. Melody notes must match the shown octave. This version uses the shown root-position chord in its specified octave. Extra notes and voicings outside that zone do not count.
Play the chord and first melody note together, then keep the chord down. Repeated melody notes need new presses. In repeated-chord mode, re-press every chord note at each marked arrow. Sustain pedal is intentionally ignored: this is finger-hold practice. MIDI checks keys and timing, not which physical hand or fingers you used.
Acoustic: Play your real piano, then mark each step yourself. Scores are labelled self-checked. This version does not offer microphone scoring because it cannot independently verify a held chord and moving melody from audio.
Browser support: MIDI needs a supported browser, permission, and a secure context (HTTPS or localhost). On-screen and acoustic self-check need no hardware permission. Connect a MIDI keyboard through your device’s supported MIDI connection; this page cannot pair hardware on your behalf.
For local MIDI hosting: save this file, run python3 -m http.server 8000 in its folder, then open http://localhost:8000/duo-rush.html. No external libraries, account or audio uploads. Settings and personal bests stay in this browser when storage is available.
Self-check only. No notes are being detected.
